Happy to be Black and Tan

My politics are my business.  Just to let you know that I am proud to be a black and tan German Shepherd Dog.  Today, I walk proud and will take a long slurp out of my bowl and toast our—Mr. President.

Loving that the election is over.  It is a relief to me and all my cousins, especially the wolves that Sarah Palin did not win.  Yikes.  If I ever met her I would take all her tennis balls away from her.  She doesn’t deserve to have any fun.

Halloween Humiliation

Yesterday, I looked at all the children that came to my door asking for candy.  I know what it is like to ask for a treat now and then.  In fact, I enjoy working for treats.  I like cookies, bits of chicken, and peanut butter.

When I think of Halloween I want to be in my Dog Run.  I will bark and bark.  I refuse to wear a costume.  Why do they think it is cool to dress me up?  Or any of my canine friends.  It is humiliating.  I don’t know what that word means but it sounds bad.  Does the humil part have anything to do with tying to make me human?  I don’t want to be human.  They dress up.  They put on costumes to pretend to be something they are not.  I just want to be a DOG!  Keep the rabitt ears away from me.

Oh boy! A New Puppy on the Block.

Guess what.  I have a new friend.  Yippee!  He is a little German Shepherd Puppy-dog.

I just met him today.  His name is Beau; the same name as my kitty friend.  Anyway, he is so happy and he is looking forward to tossing around a few tennis balls with me.  I will take him under my wing and get him off on the right path.

He told me that he has not yet had a chance to defecate on the beautiful carpet.  He thinks it would be easy to get away with it, because he is so damn cute.  “Oh Beau, you have a lot to learn.”  Those soft cuddly ears will only get you so far.

Its funny when you hear it squish between their toes. But then, they’ll blame it on you, Beau.  What a dilemna!

Clancy is my Favorite Cat! He Can’t Scare Me Anymore.

Rudy here.  Clancy is one fat cat.  He thinks he rules the place.  I used to think that too!  He would hiss at me and give me the evil eye.  He even stuck out his tongue at me and threw a punch.

Then, I learned his secret.  HE IS A PUSSY CAT!  You guessed it.  A big pussy cat.

He started batting my nose with his paw.  It felt like a little soft teddy bear paw.  So, I just winked at him.

We now have an understanding.  I will let them all ”think” I am afraid of him.  Right…dumb like a fox or maybe a wolf.

What a pussy!

What a pussy!

The Dog Run is Flooded!

I hate when my neighborhood is flooded.  I don’t know where to urinate.  My favorite hydrant was flooded today.  I know I don’t have much to complain about, but I really enjoy visiting my hydrant.  Actually, skipping around in the water and splishing and spashing is a lot of fun!  I have never been in a canoe, and I wish I had one.  My buds in the neighborhood are beside themselves.  Plus, there is the carpet and my old puppy drawings in the basement.  Oh well, more memories to make.

Rudy Loves His Hero Friends of 9/11

My cousins are some of the best dogs around.  They work for the police department, the fire department and as rescue workers.  I am so proud to think of them, and the work they did during the time of 9/11.

I hope that the dog in the picture is still around with us.  I will think of him often, and especially on this day.

My GSD Buddies are Thirsty after a Trial!

German Shepherd Dogs (GSD) get to go to trials and contests.  They show off their good manners.  Remember, GSDs they are the ones that can eat at french restaurants one day, and herd sheep the next.  My friend Penny drinks to the last drop!

Rudy and “Beauregard the Cat” are Friends!

Beauregard takes a walk! Rudy saves him.

Beauregard takes a walk! Rudy saves him.

I wondered, “where was my little kitty friend Beauregard?”  I was frantic.  Then they asked me, “where’s Beauregard?”

I sprung into action.

The little guy had decided to go out to play in the yard.  He just wanted to play with my big red ball.  I found him by the wood pile.  I showed those people where to find li’l Beau. Then, they scooped him up and put him inside.  Then they gave me a treat.

Learning to Ride a Fabulous Schwinn Bike

This is Rudy again.  I have been riding a bike lately.  Well, this maybe over stating this a bit.  Actually, I have been riding along side of those folks on their classic 5-speed, Schwinn, tandom bike.  It is a blast.  However, I wish they would go just a little bit faster!  I noticed that the one in the back likes to coast along without doing her share of the peddling.  I won’t tell anyone.  The bike is a beauty!.  It has a basket in front for water, and my favorite treats!  I can tell they love it too.  They have had it along time.  It has a sticker on it that says 1971.

Is that a long time?  For a dog they keep telling me that 1 year is equal to 7.  That means that the bike is terribly old.  I know that I will out run this thing.

Second Thoughts about the Dermatologist

Hello.  Rudy again.  Do you remember my post about going to a dermatologist?  I think it is not a bad idea after all that I have been though with itching and scratching. I can’t seem to stop scratching my tummy.

They have been giving me an antihistamine.  Did you know that Benadryl is great for dogs? I love that drug.  Benadryl is the cure-all for everything.  Still, I have been scratching the hell out of myself.

What to do now?!!

I am going to the DermVet this morning. I hope she can give me some relief.
